There was a story I was told when I was young, an eastern ruler wanted to know what one thing was true regardless of plenty or famine. To find the answer he sent a envoy to King Solomon. When the envoy returned with one phrase:
This too shall pass
Its amazing how such a short phrase can carry so much power – in hard times it is a message of hope, yet in good times it is a warning. (this version of the story is attributable to Edward Fitzgerald.)
So if you are struggling on the path of achieving a goal – remember the pain, that too shall pass. When you are having a rough time at work or just a rough patch in life – remember that too shall pass.
However remember the feeling of elation when you’ve achieved the goal – that too shall pass.
