What I learned from power blogging for 10 days.

Power blogging is a blogging strategy where a blogger will post around 3-5 times a day in order to increase their view count. The idea is that the more posts out there the higher the chances that someone will see the post. If you’re following my blog, its no question that I’m a power blogger – posting around 3 posts on good days.

This post is about my thoughts and reflections on power blogging for ten days.

Power Blogging only works if you have valuable content

There are a lot of debates around the blog sphere about whether or not you should power blog. Many see it as spam while others say it works. For me I think it only works if you can write valuable content quickly.

News sites and professional magazines can be seen as power blogs – they post often – they post a lot. However the best sites have good content and once in a while GREAT CONTENT. If you think you can make produce 3-5 valuable posts a day then go for it, if not maybe tray posting less.

Power Blogging is tiring and costly

No joke, coming up with ideas for a few posts a day, researching them and writing them – that can be a lot of work. Of course if you do it properly you aren’t paying cash but you are paying in opportunity.

There are plenty of things that you can do other then blogging, like watching Netflix, reading a book or eating with friends. All the time that you took to research and write, that same time could even be used for sleep or self development.

I will say though – if you like blogging or you feel that your posts have significant value then go right ahead. As I’ve stated before in my post Why you should not be blogging and why you should, blogging should be a effort of love for subject.

Power Blogging helps you de-stress

If you are blogging for fun or because you love your topic – power blogging can become a very interesting and easy way to clear your mind. From my post 2018 challenge day 5 – How to Stop Worrying and Start Living, one of the ways you can keep yourself from getting stressed and stop worrying is by finding something to do that requires mental effort. That sometime for me in fact has been my reading challenge and of course this blog. I fact I’ve noticed that I’ve been much less stress after the creation of this blog.
